Strategic and feasibility plans conducted by the township over the last several years clearly defined a need for a central gathering place that would add to the quality of life to those who live and work in the surrounding communities of Trexlertown, Fogelsville, Breinigsville, and Kuhnsville area.
The Township has approved the building of a 188,000, state of the art facility in Grange Park that will be the social heart of the community. This multi-function, physical gathering place is more than just a recreational township venue - it will be a vibrant part of the Lehigh Valley, complementing all different lifestyles through social, educational, and athletic activities for all ages.
The facility will use state-of-the-art and sustainable materials to reduce the carbon footprint and use natural elements such as wood, stone and glass. The turf field will be made from 80% recycled materials and the high-performance gym floor will be 100% recyclable product.
From community events to sports, the center will serve a variety of lifestyle purposes and will offer community rooms, athletics, and social and educational opportunities. The facility is designed to be expandable as different needs arise, such as an ice rink or community pool.
From the indoor walking track and fitness area to the expansive turf field, the facility will serve as a practice and training space that can be used in all seasons by youth and adults who are part of an athletic team or club or pursuing their own fitness. Basketball, lacrosse, volleyball, pickleball, badminton, and more utilize the indoor, all-weather spaces.
The center will bring community together with three classroom-sized spaces that can be used for meetings, yoga classes, celebrations, events, and children and adult programming. There is also a lounge area and refreshment area with concessions.
Sports performance, on-site fitness screenings and programming, and on-site athletic trainer from Lehigh Valley Health Network partner will be available to all who use the facility. In addition, they are provided facility enhancements like AEDs, Water Coolers, Hand Sanitizer Stations, and Mamava Nursing Pod.
The center will offer Health Fairs and Screenings. educational seminars, recreation and support groups, nutrition and wellness classes, and clinics for residents of the region.
