Upper Macungie Township will soon be home to a188,000-square-foot Community Lifestyle Center at Grange Park, a state-of-the-art gathering space for residents that Alvin H. Butz Inc. Said will be a landmark of sustainability and innovation in the region. The facility will include an indoor turf field with a walking/jogging track, multi-purpose courts, a fitness center, locker rooms, classrooms, meeting spaces, and more. It will be available to host a variety of events, from community gatherings and sports tournaments to health screenings and educational programs.

The debut of the $48.5 million Lifestyle Community Center at Grange Park took another step on Thursday afternoon at a walking news conference.
The introduction of the installation of the first of 18 heavy timber trusses, imported from Austria, served as an integral piece of the 188,000-square-foot, multi-functional indoor facility.
“This is gonna be a really magical place,” township supervisor Jeff Fleischaker said at the conclusion of the tour as workers continued assembling the center’s frame.

MAY 29, 2025 | U. MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. - Construction is now underway on a brand-new $38.5 million community center in Grange Park in Upper Macungie Township, something that has been a long time in the making.
"The idea first came to be long before I was a member of the supervisors. It was decades in the making, this project," said Jeff Fleischaker, Chair of the Upper Macungie Board of Supervisors.
Fleischaker said the new center will include classrooms, basketball courts, a cafe, and even an indoor field.

The site was barren, the reactions were not. They gathered at Grange Park on Thursday morning under a white tent and blue skies for ground-breaking ceremonies for the $47 million Lifestyle Community Center. Local, county and state officials and major donor company representatives joined township residents to celebrate the 188,000-square-foot, multi-functional indoor facility that will include a 130,000-square-foot, turf soccer field, a running track, volleyball and basketball courts, lounges, a workout area, a cafeteria and meeting rooms.

Right now, the large space in Grange Park looks like a clump of dirt, rocks and construction vehicles.

Organizers say more than 100 residents, community partners and officials watched Thursday's groundbreaking ceremony for what will become Upper Macungie Township's Community Lifestyle Center. The shovels on Thursday only just scratched the surface of what's to come in the next roughly 22 months.

The Upper Macungie Township Community Lifestyle Center began its journey with a sunny-weather groundbreaking Thursday, promising to bring various amenities and activities in the next couple of years. “Who is ready to move some dirt?” said Laura McHugh, vice chair of the fundraising nonprofit Upper Macungie Township Community Fund.
The 188,000-square-foot facility slated for Grange Park, will include an indoor soccer field and running path, indoor basketball and volleyball courts, lounges, a workout area, a cafeteria and classrooms.
